Banyu Wirawan

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Credentials: Certified PADI Divemaster, Member of ASITA (Association of the Indonesian Tours & Travel Agencies) Sustainable Tourism Committee, B.A. in Hospitality Management from Trisakti University.

Bio: A native of Flores, Banyu has dedicated his career to showcasing the beauty of his homeland in a sustainable manner. With over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, including management roles at globally recognized resorts in Bali and Sumba, Banyu founded SIORA Komodo to bridge the gap between world-class travel expectations and the complexities of Komodo’s regulatory environment. He witnessed firsthand the confusion caused by the SIORA online system and was driven to create a service that provides clarity and confidence for travelers. Banyu personally oversees our partner selection process, ensuring every operator aligns with our core values of safety and conservation.

Dewi Lestari

Director of Operations & Compliance

Credentials: M.A. in Tourism Planning from Universitas Gadjah Mada, 15+ years experience in tourism licensing and government relations.

Bio: Dewi is the logistical heart of SIORA Komodo. She is a master of Indonesian bureaucracy, possessing an unparalleled understanding of the permit and quota systems governed by the BPHLHK and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Before joining our team, Dewi worked within the tourism board, giving her invaluable insight into the official processes. She manages our dedicated team that handles every client’s SIORA application, liaises directly with the Balai Taman Nasional Komodo (Komodo National Park Authority) on quota availability, and ensures every vessel and guide in our network maintains perfect regulatory standing.

Dr. Adrian Hartono

Lead Conservation & Sustainability Advisor

Credentials: Ph.D. in Marine Biology from Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), published research on Komodo dragon population dynamics, active collaborator with the Komodo Survival Program.

Bio: Dr. Hartono ensures that our passion for travel is matched by our commitment to preservation. He is a respected marine biologist whose research in the Komodo National Park area provides the scientific backbone for our sustainability policies. He designed our partner audit’s environmental criteria, advises on low-impact itineraries, and leads our carbon offsetting program. Markus Ratu

Lead Guide & Naturalist Trainer

Credentials: Certified Expert Guide (Pramuwisata Ahli) by HPI (Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia), Komodo National Park Ranger Certification (Level III).

Bio: Born and raised in a small fishing village on the edge of the park, Markus possesses a lifetime of local knowledge. He has been guiding in Komodo for over 25 years and is one of the most respected naturalists in the region. His ability to spot wildlife, interpret dragon behavior, and share local folklore is legendary. Markus does more than lead our most exclusive tours; he is responsible for training all guides within our network, ensuring they meet our high standards for safety, ecological knowledge, and storytelling.
